As the owners of Sylvan Learning – Kahala, we recognized the need for quality ‘first-learning’ experiences for toddlers, to set them on a successful educational path. Seeing that need, we have developed an excellent and exciting  curriculum for our new preschool.

OUR FOUNDERS

The founders at Early Achievers are passionate about the school. Pamela, the head of school, started her educational career at a preschool in 1991 but has had experience as a classroom teacher in grades PreK–7th over the years in the US as well as in Seoul, Korea. She also started an international preschool in Seoul, starting with a handful of students, which eventually grew to become the feeder school to the K-12 international schools in Seoul. Upon relocating to Honolulu in 2012, Pamela, along with her husband Sam, acquired Sylvan Learning Center in Kahala and started Bright Beginnings ESL Hawaii. Continuing to inspire keiki in Hawaii to be excited about learning, Pamela and Sam have helped children across the islands to embrace learning.

C2C has been in the business of education since 1945. Founded by Shinichi and Kiyoko Furuya with the mindset of educating the youth to rebuild Japan after WWII, C2C Global Education has schools (preschool-universities) across Japan and now has expanded their vision to China, Vietnam, and India. C2C has partnered with Pamela and Sam to collaborate on establishing an outstanding school in Hawaii.

Together, the partners aim to create an exceptional preschool experience for Hawaii’s keiki.

Pamela LeeFounder & Managing Director
Pamela Lee has a robust background in education, starting with a BA in Education from Cal State University, Northridge, followed by an MS in Educational Administration from National University. Her teaching career spans since 1991, covering grades PreK-7th. Notably, she also initiated an international preschool in Seoul, Korea. After moving to Honolulu in 2012 with her husband Sam, Pamela expanded her educational impact by acquiring several educational institutions, including Sylvan Learning Center in Kahala, Amazing Athletes, and Little Medical School, as well as founding Bright Beginnings ESL Hawaii. Pamela has always dreamt of starting a preschool in Hawaii. She is thrilled to bring this vision to life with the launch of Early Achievers Preschool.
Sam KimFounder & Financial Controller
Sam Kim is a seasoned entrepreneur with a distinguished career and academic background. He holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering from USC and MIT, and an MBA from Harvard. Sam has worked as a partner at Bain & Company and held executive roles at New York Life and AIG. Currently, he is the owner of Sylvan Kahala, Bright Beginnings ESL Hawaii, and Early Achievers Preschool, where he applies his extensive experience to promote education and development. In his free time, Sam enjoys golfing, finding it an ideal way to relax and connect with others.
Sunao IshidaFounder & C2C Liaison
Sunao Ishida is an executive of C2C Global Education Japan and a founder of Early Achievers Preschool. Graduated from Waseda University with a BA in Economics, he worked for a Japanese general trading company and Accenture Japan for many years, where he gained expertise in management and new business development. Sunao decided to join the education industry when he was inspired by C2C’s vision of expanding its overseas operations and providing the best education to children around the world. At Early Achievers Preschool, Sunao is tasked with promoting the school to parents of students from Japan and other countries and fostering internationalization.
